Kanala AdBlocker Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 11, 2026
Kanala AdBlocker is a browser extension whose single purpose is to block advertising, tracking requests, and user-selected unwanted page elements while providing site-specific filtering controls.
Information processed
Kanala AdBlocker processes the address and content of the webpage currently open in the browser only as needed to apply network rules, hide matching page elements, display the current domain, and support the element picker. This processing occurs locally in the browser.
The extension stores user-created settings, including the selected protection level, allowed domains, blocked domains, cosmetic filter selectors, site-specific element-picker rules, and YouTube helper preference. These preferences are stored using Chrome's extension storage API and may be synchronized by Chrome when browser synchronization is enabled by the user.
Information not collected
Kanala AdBlocker does not operate developer-controlled analytics or data-collection servers. It does not collect names, email addresses, authentication information, financial information, health information, precise location, browsing history, or advertising profiles. It does not sell user data or use user data for advertising.
Sharing and transmission
Kanala AdBlocker does not transmit webpage content, browsing activity, or extension settings to the developer or to third parties. Chrome may synchronize extension preferences according to the user's Chrome account and synchronization settings. That synchronization is provided and controlled by Google Chrome, not by Kanala AdBlocker.
Data retention and deletion
Preferences remain in Chrome's extension storage until the user changes them, clears the extension's data, or uninstalls the extension. Users can remove individual rules through the Settings page and can remove all stored extension data by uninstalling the extension.
Security
The extension uses Chrome Manifest V3, packaged filtering rules, and locally bundled code. It does not download or execute remote code. It does not modify DRM or protected media streams.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the new practices take effect where required.
